Abstract:Transfusion-related acute pulmonary injury (TRALI) is a rare pathology, defined as an acute respiratory distress syndrome characterized by acute respiratory failure and acute pulmonary edema that manifests in the period between the 6 h after a transfusion. We present the case of a young patient diagnosed with TRALI, who previously underwent elective surgery that required a transfusion. In addition, a brief review is made of the literature on the subject.
