Abstract: Blastocystis hominis is an enteric emergen organism found in human it's prevalence has been increasing in the lasts years. The frequency in Mexico is from 4.0% to 62%, without reports in the Guerrero state. The aim of this study was to inform the parasitic transition to B. hominis in the Central Zone of Guerrero state. The population in this study were three communities of Guerrero state: Chilpancingo, Petaquilla and Tixtla in a total of 1,138 preschools and schools children of both sexs. “…The average age of IBS patients (47±14) in the study was higher than the median age of the Mexican population (26 years,.INEGI 2010). A similar value was obtained by Schmulson and (2010), also in Mexican IBD patients (37±9 years) suggesting that pathogenicity of Blastocystis increases with age since this parasite has been detected in children without IBD (Rodriguez et al 2008). Two independent studies performed in a Danish population showed that Blastocystis had an association with IBS, but not with any particular ST, similar to the present study (Stensvold et al 2009b).…”

“…During colonoscopy, liquid stools were aspirated and used for coproparasitologic analysis by Faust's technique for detection of cysts and ova (Guimaráes and Sogayar 1993;Rodriguez et al 2008). To complete serial coproparasitologic analysis, two other faecal samples were obtained.…”
