Transmission-constrained generation maintenance scheduling considering market-based demand response

Abstract: SUMMARYIntroduction of smart grid has changed different paradigms in power industry. System-wide demand participation in power system operational planning is one of such influenced paradigms. To comply with these influenced paradigms, generation maintenance scheduling (GMS), as one of the operation planning processes, should be modified to adapt to the new changes. This paper proposes a new model to consider demand response (DR) in the GMS problem. The proposed GMS problem is modelled as a mixed integer linear… Show more

“…Congestion management problems can be considered from different perspectives such as pricing methods, centralize/decentralized controlling methods, and special objective functions . In the first group, the autors focus on different methods to find the marginal prices in injection and consumption nodes.…”

“…Under the smart environment, demand-side behaviors, enabled by demand response programs (DRPs), affect the units' optimum GM schedule. The impacts of demand-side management (DSM) on GM scheduling have been investigated in several works [1,[17][18][19]. To consider the impacts of GM outages on the electricity prices, in [1], the demand response (DR) under a competitive market environment was incorporated in the GM model.…”

“…The impacts of demand-side management (DSM) on GM scheduling have been investigated in several works [1,[17][18][19]. To consider the impacts of GM outages on the electricity prices, in [1], the demand response (DR) under a competitive market environment was incorporated in the GM model. In [18], a competitive structure of GM scheduling under a deregulated environment incorporating demand-side conditions was presented in which besides the main goal of GM, the customers' satisfaction was also considered.…”

“…In traditional power system, Demand Response (DR) had been widely used. [8][9][10] On the demand side of integrated energy system, IDR was defined as the derivation and extension of DR by Sheikhi and Bahrami in 2015. 11 Based on this, IDR had been involved in integrated energy system and played a significant role.…”
