“…Other programs such as computerized interventions have resulted in tobacco abstinence of 32% (Chen et al, 2012). Here, the telephone interview has demonstrated the effectiveness in utilizing family members of patients in implementing smoking cessation programs (Carreras Castellet et al, 2012; Winickoff, Hillis, Palfrey, Perrin & Rigotti, 2003). Our results reinforce the utility and sustainability of tobacco cessation in the context of the phone intervention.…”
