Trends in Aetiology and Susceptibility Pattern of Bacterial Pathogens From Bloodstream Infections at a Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital in Western Maharashtra- A 4-Year Analysis
Abstract:BACKGROUNDBloodstream infections (BSIs) are life-threatening. Microbiological cultures take time for reporting. It is essential to start initial appropriate empirical treatment to reduce morbidity and mortality due to septicaemia. One should know the local epidemiology and susceptibility pattern of the isolates to decide appropriate empirical therapy.
