Tribological properties of composites of polyamide-6 and nanotubes of MoS2, and nanowires of MoO(3−x)and Mo6S2I8

Abstract: Phone: þ34 976 01 1875, Fax: þ34 976 01 1888Composites of Mo 6 S 2 I 8 -nanowires, MoO (3 À x) -nanowires and MoS 2 -nanotubes with polyamide 6 (PA6) have been prepared in different concentrations up to 4% via melt-mixing using a laboratory twin screw extruder in order to investigate their tribological, mechanical and thermal properties. Chemical and structural composition of these nanowires and nanotubes with similar morphologies seem to play an important role in properties of fabricated polymer composites. T… Show more

“…The parameter H / E is used to predict the wear resistance of the thin film coatings . The wear resistance is an important factor in the performance and function of the optical coatings during their operations where mechanical contacts are always expected . No significant changes in H / E were found after the heat treatment of the coatings.…”

“…The different improvements in the coeffi cient of friction obtained are a function of the shape of the WS 2 particle as well as WS 2 concentration and the experimental conditions employed. In the next contribution, Meier and co-workers report the tribological behaviour of composites of polyamide-6 (PA-6) with Mo 6 S 2 I 8 -nanowires, MoO (3-x) -nanowires and MoS 2 -INTs at different concentrations [8].…”
