Two New Saponins from the Root Bark of Aralia Elata

Based on the analyses and comparison of 1 H-and 13 C-NMR as well as the results of acid hydrolysis with the reported data, compound Ia, Ila, and Va were proved to be identical with stipuleanoside R 1 dimethylester (Yang et al, 1985), araloside A methylester (Lee et al, 1992), and stipuleanoside R 2 methylester (Yang et al, 1985), respectively. The new glycoside IIIa showed a positive Liebermann-Burchard test for saponins.…”
