Trust based multi-path routing for end to end secure data delivery in manets

Abstract: Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are comprised of highly mobile nodes that communicate with each other without relying on a pre-existing network infrastructure. Therefore they are ideally suited for use in rescue and emergency operations. These applications have increased security requirements with low acceptable delays, in order to provide high quality service. However, MANETs were not designed with security protection in mind and they are prone to several attacks. Communication in mobile ad hoc networks compr… Show more

“…2. It is observed from the results that SDNMR performs better than SecMR [41] and protocol [42] because they do not consider selfish node attacks. SecMR is not addressing any kind of data security other than the discovery of secured multiple node-disjoint paths.…”

“…It is observed from the in-depth analysis of literature that most of the protocols were proposed to follow trust based security measurements to maintain multiple paths. A little work as [42] is providing both route security and data security. But unable to address attacks by selfish nodes which drop the data packets to save their battery power.…”

“…The concept of "Trust" initially derives from social sciences and is well-defined as the degree of particular certainty about the behaviours of a specific entity [7]. Blaze et al [8] first introduced the term "Trust Management" and recognised it as a discrete factor of security service area in networks and explained that "Trust organization provides a unified approach for specifying and understanding security policies, credentials, and relationships."…”
