The main purpose of this study is to determine student views on the practices of preparation activities in Turkish course teacher's guide books. This study uses a quantitative survey design. The study population includes students attending 6 th , 7 th and 8 th grades in middle schools. The study sample consists of 189 6 th -grade, 162 7 th -grade, and 165 8 th -grade students attending in the middle schools Akoluk, Beşirli IMKB, Cudibey, Mimar Sinan, Osman Kalyoncu Imam-Hatip, Pelitli 75. Yıl Cumhuriyet and Yol-Iş Sendikası located in the district Ortahisar of Trabzon city during the academic year 2016-2017. The data of this study was collected using "The Questionnaire on 6 th -grade Students' Completing Preparation Activities in Teacher's Guide Book", "The Questionnaire on 7 th -grade Students' Completing Preparation Activities in Teacher's Guide Book", and "The Questionnaire on 8 th -grade Students' Completing Preparation Activities in Teacher's Guide Book". The data was analyzed using SPSS 16.00 software. While analyzing student views on preparation activities, the study considered the frequency, percentage and mean values for each questionnaire item. At the end of the research, 6, 7 and 8th grade students stated a positive opinion about the implementation of the preparatory activities; students especially like to learn about and introduce activities for Turkish elders, and to interpret the visuals of the texts to be taught; newspapers, magazines, etc. they had difficulty in recognizing periodicals; they do not like to either read or memorize the poetry genre; it is among the results reached that there are interdisciplinary activities in which they give negative opinions about the implementation of the books.
