Twitter’da ve Çevrimiçi Bir Gazetede Yer Alan Nefret Söylemlerinin Karşılaştırılması: Suriyeli Mülteciler Örneği

Abstract

When online newspapers and social media channels are considered, it is seen that new media has an important place in this subject.The fact that the new media is open to interaction raises this area to a high position in the face of traditional media. However, when we examine these articles, it is seen that hate speech is produced in a widespread and disproportionate manner due to the uncontrolled structure. Content produced in online newspapers can affect the agenda of social media circles and this way society can be perceived. Within the scope of the study,online newspapers Hürriyet newspaper reports on Syrian refugees in the last 6 months of 2017 and tweets on Twitter are the universe of working tweeters about Syrian refugees.in this direction, it is one of the aims of the article to determine in which circles hate speech is produced frequently and how these discourses are realized.Among the findings, more hate speech was produced on Twitter. In particular, it has been determined that the hate speech that has emerged in the direction of Twitter's interactivity structure and Re-tweet has spread rapidly.A qualitative study was carried out using the MAXQDA program. With the MAXQDA program, the most repetitive words were identified and a general idea about the general structure of the news and tweets was reached. Teun Van Dijk's discourse analysis was conducted by discourse analysis method. In the light of all these studies, it has been concluded that the control of the new media increases the hate speech. Especially the news in the online newspapers determine the agenda but the hate speech is produced in social media channels.
