“…In 2015, 191 United Nations Member states signed the 2030 Agenda, including 17 goals and 169 sustainable development targets. This agenda is formulated based on the consensual idea that shared responsibility exists to create a more inclusive, equitable, prosperous, and sustainable future (Davidescu, Petcu, Curea & Manta, 2022). “…The research in the field of sustainable tourism with the use of bibliometric analysis is gaining supporters and is discussed in the literature on a large scale (Table 1). The main research problems of bibliometric studies on sustainability and tourism are: a) the identification of the most popular topics and research problems (Davidescu et al, 2022;Iqbal et al, 2022;Khanra et al, 2021;León-Gómez et al, 2021;Serrano et al, 2019;Singh et al, 2022;Trip et al, 2021); b) the geographical volatility of studies (Garrigos-Simon et al, 2018;León-Gómez et al, 2021;Shasha et al, 2020); c) the geographical distribution of authors (Jiménez-García et al, 2020;Pahrudin et al, 2022;Sánchez-Cañizares et al, 2018); and d) the changes in the number of articles related to sustainable tourism over time (Mihalic et al, 2021;Seguí-Amortegui et al, 2019). There is definitely a lack of bibliometric studies on the moral and ethical issues of research on sustainable tourism.…”

“…Surprisingly, the literature has paid little attention to the analysis of informality by type of gender in businesses with more than 42 months of operation (definition of an established business carried out by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor), considering that men and women have different reasons for remaining informal (Elam, 2021). The gender roles that society has imposed on women require them to face obstacles, limitations and social challenges, especially when seeking economic independence (Davidescu et al. , 2022; García, 2019; Thapa Karki et al.…”

The informal economy accommodates entrenched social norms among women who run small businesses because they value their reputation in the family and society more than facing structural barriers to their economic inclusion through formalization (Thapa Karki et al, 2021).…”
