Two new Cd(II) coordination polymers based on mixed flexible ligands, namely, {[Cd(dtsa)(bbi)]ÁDMF} n (1) and [Cd(dtsa)(bpp)] n (2) (H 2 dtsa = 2, 2 0 -dithiosalicylic acid, bbi = 1,1 0 -(1,4-butanediyl)bis(imidazole), bpp = 1,3-bi(4-pyridyl)propane), have been successfully constructed under solvothermal conditions. Complex 1 diplays a parallel threefold interpenetrating 2D layers with sql topology, and complex 2 is a 3D threefold interpenetrating architecture with bcu-x-4-P3212 topology. The photoluminescent spectra indicate that at room temperature, complexes 1 and 2 emit blue-purple luminescence.
