“…This is why studies and records covering the whole of Turkey are quite insufficient. Although the family Empididae is represented by 11 species in the Catalogue of Palaearctic Diptera (Chvála and Wagner, 1989), the number has greatly increased to 76 over the last 20 years through studies only within certain regions (Barták, 2006;Barták et al 2007;Çiftçi and Hasbenli, 2007aÇiftçi and Hasbenli, , 2007bÇiftçi and Hasbenli, , 2007cÇiftçi and Hasbenli, , 2011Raffone, 2007;Barták and Kubik, 2008;Chvála, 2008;Öz, 2010;Çiftçi et al, 2012a, 2012b, 2012c. With new records for Turkey the known number of empidids has increased to 90, of which 59 species belong to the genus Empis and 5 species belong to the genus Rhamphomyia.…”

“…nov. is a species of Hilara maura-group and assigned to the Hilara clypeata complex by its simple and slender hind femur in both sexes and unguarded prothoracic sensorial pit. Hilara nemrutica resembles North European species Hilara submaura Collin, 1927 and East Mediterranean species Hilara alboclypeata Chvála, 2008 and Hilara barlasi Çiftçi, Hasbenli & Özgül, 2012 by slightly brownish clouded wing, faintly yellowish "knees" (base of tibiae and distal end of femora) and yellowish abdominal hairs. The differential features of all species are given in Table 1.…”

“…In this study, one new species from the Hilara maura-group and one new species from the Hilara interstincta-group were described. The Hilara maura-group was initially identified by Collin (1961) with eight species and revised later with new species added by few researchers and all together there were twentyone species known from the Middle East and Europe (Chvála, 1996(Chvála, , 2008Çiftçi et al, 2012, 2020Kustov et al, 2013). Chvála (1996) revised the European H. maura-group and placed the species into four complexes: maura complex, clypeata complex, nitidula-femorella complex and media complex.…”
