TZNT alloy for surgical implant applications: A Systematic Review

Abstract: Owing to its good mechanical properties, enhanced wear resistance, good biological properties, biocompatibility, low cytotoxicity, and great corrosion behavior, Ti-Nb-Ta-Zr (TZNT) alloy, as new β titanium alloy, has attracted considerable attention for surgical implant applications. The need for the improvement of the implant properties in the physiological environment can be fulfilled by using the β titanium alloy with low elastic modulus. Additionally, this alloy can inhibit the surgical implant fracture, in… Show more

“…Tissue scaffolds and surgical implants: Due to the restoring potential for damaged tissue, regenerative medicine, and tissue engineering are of great interest [174][175][176][177]. Like protein-coated materials, ND monolayers have been indicated to act as a suitable platform for the growth of neuronal cells [178].…”

“…Al is an important metal due to its high technological value and its application in the household and aerospace industries [134][135][136][137]. Al- The observed improvement in the corrosion behavior of the PPy coating with PEG and NaF was due to the inhibition fluoride effect, which is considered a barrier for magnesium alloys.…”

“…Among engineering metals, Mg is the lightest metal and its density is 1.74 g.cm -3 [23,24]. Its density is about four times less than steel (7.86 g.cm -3 ) and 35% less than Al (2.7 g.cm -3 ) [25][26][27][28]. Mg metal is obtained by either the electrolysis of seawater magnesium chloride melts or magnesium oxide reduction with silicon.…”
