Abstract: Einleitung. Show more

“…Among these are Dactylis glomerata L. according to Muntzing (14, rs), 3 and Myers and Hill (r9, 20, 2 r); the tetraploid race of Agropyron cristatum (L.) Beauv., according to Myers and Hill (r9,20); Arrhenatherum elatius (L.) Mert. & Koch., according to Kattermann (7), and Myers and Hill (19,2o); Anthoxanthum odoratum L., according to Kattermann (7), and Hordeum bulbosum L., according to von Berg (2). It is possible that critical cytological studies of more perennial grass species may reveal additional cases of autopolyploidy, or at least cases in which the chromosomal behavior indicates a constitution intermediate between auto-and allopolyploidy.…”

“…odoratum originated via auto- or allo-polyploidization. An autotetraploid origin of A. odoratum has been suggested much earlier than the second type based on the meiotic investigation and high frequency of quadrivalents [ 20 , 21 , 22 ]. Additionally, Hedberg [ 23 ] supported this hypothesis based on the occurrence of triploid individuals within diploid populations.…”
