About the same time Farnsteiner (3) determined the bound bisulfite for some ten sugars in one concentration with bisulfite of approximately constant concentration. Years later Tomoda and Taguchi (4) repeated certain features of the work of both of the last two mentioned workers, and showed also that raffinose, sucrose, and n-fructose did not react.…”
