“…It would appear that in order to produce that effect it is necessary for the increase of the globulins to occur in a serum endowed with a relatively large amount of normal agglutinins. It has been shown by Weil (1904) and is again demonstrated in Table X that summation effects can be obtained with a colloid and a specific immune agglutinin, when each is employed in concentrations incapable of producing per se a visible effect. The assumption appears to be justifiable that such a colloid will also enhance the action of preformed normal agglutinins.…”
