Since no one investigator measured both isomers, and since the older work of Stohmann et al, Zubow, and Thomsen carries uncertainties as large as several kilocalor;ies per mole, any values deduced from these data for the heat of isomerization of n-hexane into 2,3-dimethylbutane would have uncertainties as large as, or larger than, the heat of isomerization itself.…”
