Ukierunkowani na karierę? Orientacje życiowe młodzieży z zespołów szkół zawodowych

Abstract

In this article, consideration has been given to the direction of life taken by young people participating in contemporary reality in the context of their professional choices. In an attempt to answer the question: "What personality and social variables affect the kind and quality of the presented life orientation of the studied youth?", the text presents the results of empirical analyses of a section of extensive exploration on the professional orientation of youth from vocational schools. This was a diagnostic survey, among 697 students of selected vocational schools and technicians located in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie and Wielkopolska regions. Apparently, it would seem that a significant position in the existential orientation of this group of young people which, after gaining the rights to perform a professionally chosen occupation, becomes an active participant in the labor market, will be taken up by career. It turns out, however, that the dominant life orientations of respondents are family and hedonistic lifestyles, thus an attempt was made to explain that regularity.
