“…The SH parameters was computed as follows: (1) S–Cr: g ⊥ = g || = 1.99, D = −0.24 cm –1 , E = 0.066 cm –1 ; (2) W–Cr: g ⊥ = 1.99, g || = 2.18, D = −0.046 cm –1 , E = 0 cm –1 where D is axial and E is rhombic distortions. The obtained SH parameters are similar to the previous publications of Cr ions in both octahedral and tetrahedral sites for analogous Cr 3+ doped La-gallogermanate structure. , By contrast, the LGGO crystal system offers only one crystallographic Ga 3+ (octahedral) site for the Cr ions as already strongly confirmed by the joint Rietveld refinement and Ga–K edge XANES.…”

“…The near-infrared luminescence spectra of chromium ions revealed two emission bands, but both well observed lines are assigned to the transition originating from the 4 T2 excited state to the 4 A2 ground state. According to the excellent paper published recently, the near-infrared emission bands centered at about 730 nm and 1030 nm are related to the 4 T2 → 4 A2 transitions in octahedral sites (I) and tetrahedral sites (II) of chromium ions [37]. Further spectroscopic analysis indicates that the intensities of luminescence bands are stronger for chromium ions located at octahedral site (I) than tetrahedral site (II).…”

“…5,8 Lanthanide and transition metal ions have abundant excited states that enable them to absorb and emit photons from the ultraviolet (UV) to infrared region when doped into the appropriate hosts. [9][10][11][12][13][14][15] Recently, Lian et al synthesized the Eu 2+ and Cu + co-doped Ca 0.6 Sr 0.4 S phosphors with a tunable dual-excitation dual-emission feature and demonstrated their effectiveness in enhancing sunlight harvesting for agricultural plants. 16 Notably, to simultaneously realize efficient blue and red emissions for photosynthesis, two different emitting activators are generally required to locate into a sole host.…”
