Unamplified and Real‐Time Label‐Free miRNA‐21 Detection Using Solution‐Gated Graphene Transistors in Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Abstract: The incidence of prostate cancer (PCa) in men globally increases as the standard of living improves. Blood serum biomarker prostate-specific antigen (PSA) detection is the gold standard assay that do not meet the requirements of early detection. Herein, a solution-gated graphene transistor (SGGT) biosensor for the ultrasensitive and rapid quantification detection of the early prostate cancer-relevant biomarker, miRNA-21 is reported. The designed single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) probes immobilized on the Au gate can… Show more

“…The Fabrication of the SGGT Sensor: The preparation process of SGGT could be referred to the previous report. [23] The electrodes (Cr, 3 nm; Au, 30 nm) of SGGT were deposited on the glass substrate. The graphene was transferred to the channel between the source and drain by wet chemical method.…”

“…Another example of FETs adaptable for wearables is the work of Deng et al [85] in which they recently developed a solution-gated graphene transistor (SGGT) (Figure 5C) to detect miRNA-21 (a biomarker for the early diagnosis of prostate cancer) in clinical samples with minimal sample preparation. The presence of the target miRNA was determined by analyzing the position shift of the Dirac point voltage upon hybridization with immobilized DNA probes on the gate electrode.…”
