UPLC–ESI–Q‐TOF–MS/MS analysis of anticancer fractions from Ophiocordyceps xuefengensis and Ophiocordyceps sinensis

Abstract: Ophiocordyceps xuefengensis (O. xuefengensis), a new species of caterpillar fungus, has been identified as the sister taxon of Ophiocordyceps sinensis (O. sinensis). The aims of the present study are to evaluate the anticancer activity and to qualitatively analyze the potential bioactive chemical constituents of O. xuefengensis and O. sinensis, comparatively. An MTT assay was used to evaluate the in vitro anticancer activities of different fractions from O. xuefengensis and O. sinensis. The results show that e… Show more

“…Among these compounds, 68 existed in both O. xuefengensis and O. sinensis . [53] Thus, in addition to cultured C. militaris and mycelial products of O. sinensis , native and cultivated O. xuefengensis may also have its role to play in substituting O. sinensis in Cordyceps -based therapeutics.…”

“…The oxidants in tobacco smoke channel the cell fortifications in plasma. Smokers should eat 2-3 times more ascorbate than non-smokers to achieve a comparable level of ascorbate in the blood [83], nonetheless, they only sometimes do. In assessments of sperm from smokers and non-smokers [84] the amount of sperm and the degree of motile sperm decay basically in smokers, and this reducing was dependent upon the part and term of smoking.…”

“…It is a widely known medicinal herb in the world primarily functioned as remedy for anti-cancer [2]. Pure active substances isolated from O.sinensis, namely polysaccharide, cordyceps acid, cordycepin and adenosine [3,4], have been certified to possess anti-oxidant, anti-aging, anti-cancer and strengthen the immune system [5]. In addition, it has been certificated as a novel food source according to State Food and Drug Administration of Ministry of Public Health of China [1].…”
