“…Nd:YAG and QS ruby lasers have shown promise in treating nevi of Ota and Hori macules, two pigmented lesions that disproportionately affect ethnic groups with darker skin phototypes [ 57 , 58 , 59 , 60 , 61 , 62 , 63 , 64 ]. Fluences should be kept to a minimum in darker skin types to reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation [ 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 ], and a test patch in the covered area may help determine the optimal fluence. Indeed, in our practice, laser treatments are started with a low fluency and gradually increase.…”

“…All of these leaded to faster wound healing and absence of scar formation. Also, treatment of suchlike lesions with various laser-and light-based systems displayed less satisfactory results, [14][15][16] even with multiple sessions, [17][18][19] and different device combinations. 20 In a study performed on swine tissues, radio-wave surgery revealed less inflammatory response and smaller lateral thermal damage compared with CO 2 laser.…”

“…10 Study done in population similar to ours for various pigmented lesions took one to six sessions for epidermal lesions, four to six sessions for dermal lesions, and two to three sessions for mixed lesions. 11 Thirty four patients (56.7%) showed excellent response, seven patients (11.7%) showed good response, nine patients (15%) showed fair response and 10 (16.6%) showed poor response. These results correspond to our result which showed good response to treatment after fourth treatment session.…”
