Crude oil supply chain risk management with DEMATEL–ANP

Crude oil supply chain is extremely complex and vulnerable to various risks. Clear understanding of these risks can help supply chain managers to make effective decisions. This paper identifies main risks related to crude oil supply chain and implements decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method to determine the interdependency between risks and then applies analytic network process (ANP) method to evaluate the importance of each risk and to determine the best response strategy. The results show that the most important risk area is the regulatory and environmental risks and that the transference and cooperation policy is rated as the best response strategy. Contributions of this paper are fourfold: (1) it provides a comprehensive framework of risks that need to be considered in crude oil supply chain risk management (SCRM) context; (2) it shows how DEMATEL can be applied to analyze the interdependency between risks; (3) it illustrates how various risks and risk management strategies can been assessed through the ANP approach to aid managers in their decision making processes; and (4) most important contribution is customization of crude oil SCRM in Iran.

The fuzzy Delphi method, which can lead to better criteria selection, is used to modify previous studies to construct the hierarchy. Considering the interdependence among the selection criteria in the hierarchy, ANP is then used to obtain the weights of the criteria. To avoid calculation and additional pairwise comparisons of ANP, TOPSIS is used to rank the alternatives. According to the hierarchy based on three perspectives and 12 important criteria, optimal locations for Taiwanese service apartments can be more effectively selected. Moreover, by integrating the fuzzy Delphi method, ANP, and TOPSIS, this study can make better decisions for optimal locations. To illustrate how the fuzzy Delphi method, ANP, and TOPSIS are applied in the location selection problem, their application to a real case is also performed.

The scholarship is one of the forms of giving/ rewarding funds to individuals or students to use for sustainability during their education. Scholarships are awarded as government or institutional efforts to ease the burden of students in meeting the need for increasingly expensive education costs. The mechanism for selecting scholarship recipients, the selection team of UNNES Charity House of Lazis still use the scoring of the scholarship scores manually based on the total sum of criteria assessment without considering the priority weighted value of each criterion. So that cause the disbursement of scholarship funds that are not on target. To solve the problem, it is necessary to apply a decision support system to help provide consideration of the award of the scholarship recipient. Decision support system used requires data as a guidance assessment in the form of data criteria and alternative data by implementing Analytic Network Process method. The ANP method is used to determine the criteria and alternate priority weight values and the results are rankings. The purpose of this research is to build and implement ANP method in decision support system of awarding of scholarship recipients. The criteria used include the work of parents, parent income, the amount/ grade of Single Tuition, grade point average cumulative. The results of this study indicate that the use of ANP method implementation can determine the scholarship recipients who declared feasible or not to receive the scholarship based on the ranking results of the priority weight of the alternative.
