This study aims to explore the factors influencing students’ engagement in mobile learning at Palestine Technical University Kadoorie. It utilizes a mixed research approach that combines both quantitative and qualitative designs. The study sample consists of 37 college students from two different faculties: Arts and Educational Sciences, and Applied Sciences. Data were collected using a pre-existing scale for engagement and its factors. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 students who completed the scales. The findings showed a statistically significant difference in the total engagement scores, specifically in the emotional engagement dimension. However, there was no statistical significance found in the social, cognitive, or behavioral domains. Factors related to instructors are influential factors in student engagement and have been found to be statistically significant. Qualitative findings supported the quantitative results for this question, which showed subthemes of instructor-related factors such as instructor presence, motivation, teaching strategies, and technical environment. Researchers recommend that policymakers and educators prioritize the engagement factors of students in mobile learning. One of the limitations is the generalizability of this study. The participants who were surveyed were exclusively sourced from two departments within one university. To broaden the scope, we suggest that future research include individuals from various disciplines, universities, academic institutions, and students.

At Qassim University, the Blackboard (https//:lms.qu.edu.sa) Learning Management System (LMS) is used. An exploratory study was conducted on 105 randomly selected students attending Qassim University. Of these, 91 students (87%) affirmed that they did not use the LMS as a study aide. This paper describes the means by which the MIT App Inventor language could be used to develop a mobile application (app) for the Android operating system. The app, Quizrevision, enables students to review course knowledge and concepts. An online survey was used to investigate students' perceptions and gather their feedback regarding the use of Quizrevision as a study aide, as compared to the LMS. An achievement test was used to examine the improvement of students' scores. Data was collected from 114 students taking the Phonetics course (Arab 342) in the Arabic Language Department (ALD) of Qassim University; 63 of them (55.27%) were male, and 51 (44.73%) were female. Descriptive statistics, chi-square, and t-test were used to analyze the data. The results indicated that the Quizrevision app supported the students' achievement. There was a positive attitude towards using the Quizrevision app, as well as higher engagement in using the app as compared with using the LMS. In addition, findings confirm that students prefer using m-learning apps rather than using LMSs for reviewing course concepts and knowledge. Furthermore, student scores improved after using the app.

This research was motivated by the learning to listen to English UHKBNP students during the Covid-19 pandemic which had not been carried out properly because students' understanding of listening skills was still lacking. The teaching and learning process during the pandemic was increasingly difficult for students to experience, resulting in disruption of the teaching and learning process. This also reduces the activeness of students in participating in listening lessons. The learning media used are also less effective, moreover the learning techniques used are still less varied. The purpose of this study was to analyze how effective the use of YouTube media was on the listening skills of UHKBNPP English students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used was quasi-experimental without a control class. The steps to be carried out in this research are; 1) Do a pre test; 2) Doing treatment using Youtube media; 3) Do a post test, then conclude. Based on the t test results, there was a significant difference between the control group and the experimental group in listening ability. The experimental class that used YouTube media showed significant improvement compared to the control group. The conclusion from this study is that there is effectiveness of YouTube media in improving students' listening skills during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
