USING REMOTE SENSING FOR LINEAMENT EXTRACTION IN Al MAGHRABAH AREA - HAJJAH, YEMEN

Abstract: ABSTRACT:Remote sensing and GIS data have become more and more important for the study of geology, structural geology and extract of lineament which give us an overview of the tectonic events. The main objective of our study is to design a method for extracting and mapping of lineament from Landsat 8_OLI satellite images of the study area. Different processing techniques were used to achieve our objective : MNF Minimum Noise Fraction bands (4,5,6), Color composites (7,5,3), PCA Principal Component Analysis ban… Show more

“…Numerous studies have used analogous FCC images for the extraction of lineament characteristics at other similar study areas in Greece [78][79][80][81]. The FCC created by using the Short Wave Infrared bands (7,5,3 as RGB) depicted more accurately the lineaments of the area [78,82,83].…”

“…The land use used in this study was extracted from Landsat 8 image (Al-Nahmi et al, 2016;Akinluyi, Olorunfemi and Bayowa, 2018;Kayet et al, 2018). The slope of the study area was generated from the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of 12.5 × 12.5 m spatial resolution downloaded from CEOS (no data) and NASA (no data) with the terrain corrected high resolution DEM (Chandra Bose, Giridhar and Viswanadh, 2010;Saitaptim, 2011).…”
