UV–Visible Spectroscopic Analysis of Electrical Properties in Alkali Metal‐Doped Amorphous Zinc Tin Oxide Thin‐Film Transistors

Abstract: Solution-processed and alkali metals, such as Li and Na, are introduced in doped amorphous zinc tin oxide (ZTO) semiconductor TFTs, which show better electrical performance, such as improved field effect mobility, than intrinsic amorphous ZTO semiconductor TFTs. Furthermore, by using spectroscopic UV-visible analysis we propose a comprehensive technique for monitoring the improved electrical performance induced by alkali metal doping in terms of the change in optical properties. The change in the optical bandg… Show more

“…As shown in Fig. 5, the O 1s peaks that were fitted using Gaussian fitting were cantered at $ 530.2 eV, which represents the oxygen bonds from metal oxide, $ 531.3 eV, which is related to the oxygen bonds with oxygen vacancy, and $ 532.4 eV, which is attributed to the chemisorbed oxygen [41][42][43]. The atomic ratios of different oxygen bonds are calculated and inserted in the corresponding figure.…”

“…6 However, the high investment costs, the limited storage, and the serious uneven deposit of In element prevent the long-term application in future displays. 7,8 Therefore, investigations on the In substitution have been urgently explored to achieve the comparable electrical performances.…”

“…The XPS O 1s spectrum of AB-amorphous iron (Fig. 4b) exhibited no distinct peaks at 529-530 eV, which are attributed to metal-O species, such as Fe-O species, indicating that there are no interactions between the amorphous iron nanoparticles and the oxygenic groups of the alginate [14,15].…”
