“…The results of this imunocromatographic test are in disagreement with the immunoassay tests executed in Brazil (2,3,11,13,14,(16)(17)(18)21). Our results are also in disagreement with some results obtained even in different areas of the world, by immunocromatographic assay (4,9,18) .…”

“…Due to these characteristics, the use of FAT by immunochromatography in developing countries is attractive. To the best of our knowledge, only nine studies (2,3,11,13,14,(16)(17)(18)21) in the past ten years evaluated FAT to diagnosis H. pylori infection in Brazil, most of them used immuno-enzymatic assay and only one used immunochromatography (18) .…”

“…A escolha de um teste não invasivo para o estudo epidemiológico em crianças é de fundamental importância. Dois testes não invasivos validados localmente estavam disponíveis: o teste respiratório da ureia-13 C e o teste do antígeno fecal utilizando anticorpos monoclonais 14 . Em nosso estudo de validação local, a sensibilidade foi de 93,3% (IC95% 86,9%-99,8%), e a especificidade foi de 96,2% (IC95% 93,6-98,8%) 13 .…”

“…In Brazil, previous validation of a monoclonal stool antigen test for diagnosis of H. pylori was reported in children 27 ; however, the stool antigen test based on lateral flow chromatography has not yet been tested in adults. The major advantage of these tests is the cost, when compared to 13 C-UBT and the possibility of being performed in any laboratory 10,14,15,17 .…”

“…The stool antigen tests based on immunoassay (ELISA) have been tested in several laboratories of the world, including in Brazil 4,[26][27][28] , and the results have been satisfactory. In Brazil, previous validation of a monoclonal stool antigen test for diagnosis of H. pylori was reported in children 27 ; however, the stool antigen test based on lateral flow chromatography has not yet been tested in adults.…”
