Validation of the medium and short version of CENSOPAS-COPSOQ: a psychometric study in the Peruvian population

Abstract: Background The presence of psychosocial risks at work are associated with mental and physical health issues in workers. The study aim was to adapt the COPSOQ-ISTAS21 (Spanish version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire and Union Institute of Work, Environment and Health) Medium-Version to the Peruvian context and to develop a Short-Version of the instrument. Method Cross-sectional design study. The COPSOQ-ISTAS21 Medium Version was used. A… Show more

“…The construct validity of COPSOQ II has been supported on the dimension level by using single items as indicators, and on the domain level by using the mean values of scales as indicators among workers from the gas and oil industry in Egypt [ 73 ] and in relation to a mix of COPSOQ II and III among French–Italian health-care workers from Switzerland [ 74 ]. Second-order models for COPSOQ II have been tested in a sample of health-care workers from China [ 75 ] and in a diverse sample from Peru [ 76 ]. Furthermore, the structural validity of suggested COPSOQ II dimensions is supported in a model including all originally proposed dimensions as latent variables indicated by items for Polish human service workers [ 77 ].…”

“…Although the evidence indicates a favorable internal structure, further studies can be completed by comparing the instrument in other contexts. The findings of this study allow us to calculate the general factor score of the second-order model and the specific factors independently [ 91 , 92 , 93 ] and it is considered that both the first and second-order models, taken together, provide evidence for a structure for the five first-order factors and one second-order factor. From a theoretical point of view, it is important to highlight that there is no instrument capable of replicating a multidimensional construct that evaluates coping strategies during quarantine.…”

“…The questionnaire that measures Quality of Life at Work - QWL GOHISALO short version original language in Spanish that evaluates seven dimensions [ 14 ], the questionnaire that measures fatigue and compassion satisfaction with the Quality of Life Scale was used. Professional acronym in English “Professional Quality of Life Scale” ProQoL version IV [ 15 , 16 ] and the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire - short version CopSoQ to measure its 15 dimensions [ 17 21 ]. The three highly reliable instruments with reported Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.95, 0.8 and 0.9 respectively, use a Likert-type scale and have been translated into several languages and validated in multiple languages.…”
