Value of C-reactive Protein/Albumin Ratio for Predicting Ischemia in Myocardial Perfusion Scintigraphy

Abstract: Objectives: Several studies demonstrate the relationship between coronary artery disease and inflammatory parameters. Nevertheless, there is paucity of data regarding the role of high sensitivity (hs)-C-reactive protein (CRP) to albumin ratio (CAR) in patients with ischemia on gated single photon emission tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). This study was aimed at demonstrating the relationship between CAR and the occurrence of ischemia on gated SPECT MPI. Methods… Show more

“… 4–7 The CAR is a new marker, which is calculated by the ratio of these acute phase reactants. 8 However, there are few reports on the prognosis of thrombotic diseases with CAR and plasma D-dimer (DD). 9 Therefore, this study retrospectively analyzed the characteristics of peripheral hematology and blood coagulation indexes in 109 patients with tumor-related PTE, so as to explore the clinical value of CAR combined with DD in predicting the prognosis and risk assessment of death in patients with tumor-related PTE.…”

“…MPI has an important role, not only in therapeutic management of patients with known or suspected CAD, but also for patients' prognostication [29]. After comparing the prognostic ability between three widely available software packages and expert scoring of SSS, SRS, and SDS, we demonstrated the importance of visual assessment for patients' prognostication.…”

“…11 Inflammation plays a major role in all phases of heart disease, and CRP, CAR, NLR, and procalcitonin are inflammatory markers currently used to predict the prognosis of several diseases including coronary artery disease. [12][13][14][15][16] Cardiac troponins, D-dimer, and pro-BNP are parameters commonly used to show coronary ischemia or cardiac injury. [17][18][19] Coronary ischemia and inflammation caused by COVID-19 may lead to an increase in serum levels of these parameters for pa-tients with fQRS.…”
