Variability, heritability and genetic advance in mulberry (<i>Morus</i> spp.) for growth and yield attributes

Abstract: Genetic improvement of crop plants is brought about by manipulating the genetic makeup through systematic breeding techniques or by employing modern biotechnological tools. As leaf productivity is one of the principal factors that decide the sustainability and profitability of sericulture, good quality mulberry leaf increases the cocoon productivity and quality of silk (Ashiru 2002, Doss et al 2012.
