The levels of the active 1,25-hydroxy-vitamin D 3 have also been shown to be low in patients with allogenic HSCT [34]. The authors hypothesized that during aplasia, there is a reduction of extrarenal 1-a-hydroxylation of 25-hydroxy-vitamin D 3 due to the lack of contribution from the leucocytes.…”
