Abstract:Summary
Glutamic acid, glutamine, glutathione, sulphur aminoacids and γ‐aminobutyric acids are present in higher concentration in human brain than in the brain of the cow and rabbit. Arginine, methionine and ß‐aminoisobutyric acid were detected in human brain, but not in the brains of the cow and rabbit. Hydroxyproline was found only in rabbit brain.
Glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT) and glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) in human brain showed a higher activity than in the other species examined.
