Vas Deferens Aplasia: Clinical and Anatomical Features of 90 Cases

Show more

“…The ejaculate volumes of eight cases with CBAVD were ≥1.5 ml in our study. Thus, various studies (Daudin et al., ; Wagenknecht et al., ), including ours, suggest that the presence of a normal ejaculate volume does not exclude CBAVD. Ejaculate volume and pH in cases with CUAVD are slightly higher (Weiske et al., ), and in our study, the findings were consistent with this.…”

“…Although the ejaculate volume is low and ejaculate pH is acidic in most cases of CBAVD, it is not a constant finding for CBAVD. Normal semen volumes have previously been reported in CBAVD patients (Casals et al., ; Daudin et al., ; Wagenknecht, Lotzin, Sommer, & Schirren, ). The ejaculate volumes of eight cases with CBAVD were ≥1.5 ml in our study.…”

“…In this context, clinical manifestations are generally less severe or atypical (isolated chronic sinusitis, chronic cough, diabetes, cirrhosis or male infertility) (Casals et al ., ; Radpour et al ., ,b). On the other side, CBAVD diagnosis is generally performed during exploration of a male infertility and vas deferens anomalies are detected in 17–30% of patients with obstructive azoospermia (Wagenknecht et al ., ).…”
