Vibration behavior of visco-elastically coupled sandwich beams with magnetorheological core and three-phase carbon nanotubes/fiber/polymer composite facesheets subjected to external magnetic field

Abstract: In the present research, modeling and vibration analysis of the double of sandwich beams which are coupled by visco-Pasternak medium are investigated. Also, this system is rested on Winkler foundation. Sandwich beams consist of magnetorheological core and carbon nanotubes/fiber/polymer composite facesheets. The material properties of magnetorheological core are obtained using the experimental data available in literature. Halpin–Tsai model is utilized to determine the material properties of carbon nanotubes/fi… Show more

“…Pre- and post-yield are the regions where both shear stress and strain of MR fluids are characterized in. In the pre-yield region, the shear stress and strain are related to each other on the basis of linear viscoelastic theory as below (Ghorbanpour Arani et al, 2017a)…”

“…At Virginia Tech University, Ahmadian et al. 15 designed the gun recoil damper for high speed, and established dynamic model of anti-sitting process and its high shear test confirms the possibility of MR damper used in the anti-sitting of artillery. At Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Qing et al.…”

“…It not only gradually achieves good results in the simple anti-vibration control, but also provides possible electromechanical system impact buffer design in the complex conditions. 15 The buffer device has been gradually extended to the automotive suspension system vibration, aircraft landing gear shock absorber, anti-vibration impact of the gun recoil, etc. 16–18 In fact, MR technology has been applied to the field of military engineering and weapon damping system at home and abroad.…”

“…Momeni et al (2017) introduced the oscillation analysis of laminated composite beams filled with MR fluids under accidental loading applying experimental and also simulation approaches. Ghorbanpour Arani et al (2019) studied vibration behavior of viscoelastically coupled sandwich beams with MR fluid core and three-phase carbon nanotubes/fiber/polymer composite face sheets exposed to external magnetic field. They illustrated that by enhancing the magnetic field severity, the modal loss factor, unlike the natural frequency, decreases.…”
