BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the order of life in various aspects of life, including the field of education in Indonesia. AIM: The purpose of the study was to determine student perceptions and acceptance of the online learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: The research is in the form of a survey using Google Forms about the perception and acceptance of online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic for nursing students at universities in Indonesia, a questionnaire sent via Whatsapp. Held from July 1, 2021, to July 30, 2021. RESULTS: The many of respondents aged 17-19 years (50%) with a Diploma-students (62.9%). Most of them have intermediate-level skills in using information technology (82.2%). The platform that is often used is Zoom meeting. While other platforms are Whatsapp and Edmodo. The advantages of online learning are that students state that they can study from home (22.2%) and easily access online sources of material (19.9%) and can obtain recordings of each lesson (18.6%). Constraints that are often faced are technical problems (24.6%), very minimal interaction with lecturers (18.4%) and very minimal interaction between students (17.5%). Age and skills in using technology, information, and communication have a significant effect on students' perceptions of online learning (p<0.05). Most respondents have a negative perception (52.2%) about online learning. CONCLUSION: Although there are several advantages to online learning, students' perceptions of the learning process are negative, meaning that they are happier and still want face-to-face learning.

El uso estratégico de las aplicaciones digitales en educación superior adquiere especial relevancia en tiempos de pandemia por COVID-19. Se presenta un estudio exploratorio en el cual se indaga en el uso de aplicaciones digitales y las que recomiendan docentes universitarios para la autorregulación del aprendizaje en contexto de enseñanza virtual, por COVID-19. La metodología fue de carácter cualitativa, con un enfoque fenomenográfico, basado en tres grupos focales, con una muestra intencional de 17 docentes. Los datos fueron analizados a través de la técnica de Análisis de Contenido. Se identifican 27 aplicaciones digitales pertinentes para facilitar la autorregulación del aprendizaje, las cuales fueron agrupadas según el modelo cíclico de Zimmerman, 16 fueron útiles para la fase de preparación, 19 para la fase de ejecución, 11 para la fase de autorreflexión y 8 para las tres fases del modelo. WhatsApp y Google Calendar son las aplicaciones más recomendadas para los procesos de autorregulación, específicamente para la disposición del aprendizaje. La convergencia de conocimiento sobre autorregulación del aprendizaje y competencias TIC emergen como un desafío compartido para promover el uso estratégico de las aplicaciones digitales y favorecer aprendizajes inclusivos y de calidad en la universidad, en contexto de pandemia por COVID-19.

This study aims to investigate the problems, solutions, and opinions about the use of the Tanjungpura University’s e-learning-Moodle LMS as learning media during the covid-19 pandemic by students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Tanjungpura University in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Respondents in this study were selected based on the characteristics of gender, and semester classifications. The qualitative research approach was employed in this study, utilizing semi-structured interviews where the interview questions underwent a piloting phase. The results of the study showed that the challenges faced by the students in using Moodle LMS included network instability, application errors, application disadvantages and the level of technology literacy which were followed up by shortcut tricks and strategies the respondents came up with to overcome them. In general, respondents gave a positive response to the use of Moodle LMS which can be seen from their preference for Moodle LMS over other LMS’s, claim of its suitability for use in learning, and willingness to recommend it to other potential users. However, all respondents revealed that they prefer face-to-face learning to online learning.
