Background: Virtual reality (VR) is recognized as a versatile training tool across various domains, including healthcare. In Jordan, dementia is a significant public health concern, accounting for 5.17% of all recorded deaths. Given the complex nature of dementia care, preparing nursing students is crucial. Purpose: This paper explores the feasibility and effectiveness of VR-based empathy training for nursing students, with a growing global interest in VR training applications, despite the need for further study of VR acceptability in the Jordanian context. Methods: This mixed-methods study included 71 nursing students in a psychiatric course at a university in Jordan. Feasibility was assessed through recruitment, retention, adherence, data completion, and implementation fidelity. Pre- and post-intervention assessments measured empathy levels. Thematic analysis of participant feedback provided insights into usability. Results: Recruitment and retention rates were excellent, with a 100% participation rate and 100% retention. The intervention demonstrated a statistically significant enhancement in empathy scores following the program (M_pre = 50.44, SD_pre = 9.24; M_post = 65.17, SD_post = 8.53), t (71) = -23.89, p < 0.001. The thematic analysis highlighted the importance of a user-friendly interface, a supportive learning environment, and engaging content. Conclusion: This study highlights the potential of VR-based training to enhance empathy among nursing students in the context of dementia care. The robust feasibility outcomes and positive user experiences suggest that VR technology can be a valuable addition to nursing curricula, ultimately benefiting patient care and the nursing workforce. Implications for Nursing: Integrating VR into nursing education presents the potential for elevating empathy in nursing students, notably within dementia care. This innovative approach equips prospective healthcare providers with vital skills for delivering more compassionate patient care. The existence of a modern person in a digital environment requires a high level of digital literacy, special skills that allow us to perceive, process and use ever-increasing amounts of information. Any information is now available to users, technologies allow viewing and studying various sources of information almost simultaneously. The amount of visual content is increasing, and therefore, cognitive processes are adapting to new conditions. Technologies are changing, and needs are changing, which in turn leads to a new stage of technology development. Technologies are becoming more complex and at the same time becoming more understandable and familiar to users, simplifying the processes of perception and processing of information. Advances in the field of image creation and processing have significantly expanded the possibilities and ways of presenting visual information. There is a need to investigate the features of the processes of human perception of visual information from the standpoint of various theoretical approaches.The article contains the results of a study of the perception of visual information in the digital environment by people of different ages, the features of its processing, memorization, comprehension. Modern digital space forms new perceptual and cognitive styles of information processing, which are associated with the development of awareness of digital content consumption -depending on the goals of online activity -sometimes a thoughtful and contemplative perception and comprehension of data is necessary, and sometimes it is enough to identify keywords or images and, based on them, view certain data and draw conclusions. It is this awareness of digital content consumption that allows you to experience a unique cognitive experience in a digital environment, which allows you to experience emotional satisfaction from studying and perceiving data, and not just from studying them.

The Teachers’ Effective English Listening Comprehension Strategies for Senior High School Students

The purpose of this study was to find out how teachers at MA Ma'arif Jogorogo applied strategies to teach aspects of listening. The teachers were selected through purposive sampling, which involved the selection of samples based on specific criteria. Based on the purposive sampling method, two teachers were selected as research samples. A qualitative descriptive research approach was used to examine three aspects of teachers' strategies: their interpretation of teaching strategies, their actual teaching methods, and their assessment of students' listening comprehension. Data collection involved semi-structured interviews to gain in-depth insights from the respondents. Data analysis used interactive analysis models from Miles and Huberman. The research revealed that teachers' interpretations of strategies were closely interrelated with other skills, impacting learning outcomes significantly. Additionally, the use of different strategies facilitated students to more easily understand the material discussed. Furthermore, the use of different strategies could lead to varying results. Moreover, the use of audio-visual media allowed students to directly hear the sound and focus on the content in question, followed by group discussions and quizzes that encouraged direct and spontaneous student responses. Finally, teachers assessed students' work through various exercises, such as summarizing the material, identifying main ideas, making presentations, and engaging in question and answer sessions. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana guru di MA Ma'arif Jogorogo menerapkan strategi untuk mengajar aspek mendengarkan. Para guru dipilih melalui cara purposive sampling, yaitu pemilihan sampel dengan kriteria-kriteria yang telah disebutkan. Berdasarkan metode purposive sampling tersebut didapatkan dua orang guru sebagai sampel penelitian. Pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menguji tiga aspek strategi guru: interpretasi mereka terhadap strategi pengajaran, metode pengajaran mereka yang sebenarnya, dan penilaian mereka terhadap pemahaman mendengarkan siswa. Pengumpulan data melibatkan wawancara semi-terstruktur untuk mendapatkan wawasan mendalam dari para responden. Analisis data menggunakan model analisis interaktif dari Miles and Huberman. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa interpretasi guru terhadap strategi saling terkait erat dengan keterampilan lain, berdampak pada hasil pembelajaran secara signifikan. Selain itu, penggunaan strategi yangnberbeda juga memfasilitasi para siswa agar lebih mudah dalam memahami materi yang didiskusikan. Selain itu, penggunaan strategi yang berbeda dapat menyebabkan hasil yang bervariasi. Selanjutnya, penggunaan media audio visual memungkinkan siswa untuk langsung mendengar suara dan fokus pada konten yang dimaksud, diikuti dengan diskusi kelompok dan kuis yang mendorong tanggapan siswa secara langsung dan spontan.
