GG Tau is one of the most studied young multiple stellar systems: GG Tau A is a hierarchical triple surrounded by a massive disc and its companion, GG Tau B, is also a binary. Despite numerous observational attempts, a comprehensive understanding of the geometry of the GG Tau A system is still elusive. Given the significant role of dynamical interactions in shaping the evolution of these systems, it is relevant to characterise the stellar orbits and the discs' properties. To determine the best orbital configuration of the GG Tau A system and its circumtriple disc, we provide new astrometric measures of the system and we run a set of hydrodynamical simulations with two representative orbits to test how they impact a disc composed of dust and gas. We tested the dynamical evolution of the two scenarios on short and long timescales. We obtained synthetic flux emission from our simulations at different timescales and we compared them with multi-wavelength observations of 1300 mu m ALMA dust continuum emission and 1.67 mu m SPHERE dust scattering to infer the most likely orbital arrangement. We extend the analysis of the binary orbital parameters using six new epochs from archival data, showing that the current measurements alone (and future observations coming in the next 5-10 years) are not capable of fully breaking the degeneracy between families of coplanar and misaligned orbits, but finding that a modest misalignment is probable. We find that the timescale for the onset of the disc eccentricity growth, $ ecc $, is a fundamental timescale for the morphology of the system. Results from the numerical simulations obtained using the representative coplanar and misaligned ($ orbits show that the best match between the position of the stars, the cavity size, and the dust ring size of GG Tau A is obtained with the misaligned configuration on timescales shorter than $ ecc $. The results exhibit an almost circular cavity and dust ring, favouring slightly misaligned ($ low-eccentricity ($e 0.2-0.4)$ orbits. However, for both scenarios, the cavity size and its eccentricity quickly grow for timescales longer than $ ecc $ and the models do not reproduce the observed morphology anymore. This implies that either the age of the system is shorter than $ ecc $ or that the disc eccentricity growth is not triggered or dissipated in the system. This finding raises questions about the future evolution of the GG Tau A system and, more generally, the time evolution of eccentric binaries and their circumbinary discs.

Stars that are both pulsating and eclipsing offer an important opportunity to better understand many of the physical phenomena that occur in stars, because it is possible to measure the pulsation frequencies of stars for which the masses and radii are known precisely and accurately. KIC 9851944 is a double-lined detached eclipsing binary containing two F-stars which show both pressure and gravity mode pulsations. We present an analysis of new high-resolution spectroscopy of the system and high-quality light curves from the Kepler and TESS space missions. We determine the masses and effective temperatures of the stars to 0.6 % precision, and their radii to 1.0 % and 1.5 % precision. The secondary component is cooler, but larger and more massive than the primary so is more evolved; both lie inside the δ Scuti and γ Doradus instability strips. We measure a total of 133 significant pulsation frequencies in the light curve, including 14 multiplets that each contain between 3 and 19 frequencies. We find evidence for tidal perturbations to some of the p- and g-modes, attribute a subset of the frequencies to either the primary or secondary star, and measure a buoyancy radius and near-core rotational frequency for the primary component. KIC 9851944 is mildly metal-rich and MIST isochrones from the MESA evolutionary code agree well with the observed properties of the system for an age of 1.25 Gyr.

The Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy (CHARA) Array is a six-element interferometer with baselines ranging from 34 to 331 m. The Array has had many upgrades in recent years including new beam combiners: MYSTIC is a 6T combiner for K-band; SPICA is a 6T combiner for the visible R-band; and SILMARIL is a 3T combiner for high sensitivity in the H-and K-bands. A seventh, mobile telescope is now on site for use with fiber optics for beam transport. Observing time is available to the community through a program funded by NSF. The observing programs are solicited and peer-reviewed by NSF's NOIRLab. Here we summarize the scientific work and the on-going technical advances of the CHARA Array.
