Voltammetric behaviour of levodopa and its quantification in pharmaceuticals using a β-cyclodextrine doped poly (2,5-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid) modified electrode

Abstract: A cyclic voltammetric method based on a β-cyclodextrine doped poly(2,5-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was developed for the determination of levodopa. Compared with bare GCE and poly(2,5-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid)/GCE, the poly(2,5-diaminobenzenesulfonic acid)-β-cyclodextrine/GCE exhibits a remarkable shift of the oxidation potentials of levodopa in the cathodic direction and a drastic enhancement of the anodic current response. The incorporation of β-cyclodextrine into t… Show more

“…Clearly, the anodic peak current increases linearly with L-dopa concentration ranging from 0.1 to 150 M, the linear regress progression is I p L-dopa (A) = (0.388 ± 0.596) + (1.073 ± 0.011) (M), with a correlation coefficient of 0.998. The detection limit is 50 nM (S/N = 3), which is better than that of the latest reports [30,41,42]. The relative standard deviation of 10 determinations for 10 M is 0.93%, showing the good reproducibility of the proposed electrode.…”

“…The Fe 2 O 3 NP/MWCNT‐modified electrodes were electrochemically characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV), using the oxidation of hexacyanoferrate (II), as model electroactive species. They were then applied as electrochemical sensors, illustrated by the electrocatalytic oxidation of levodopa (LD), a precursor for dopamine production in the human body, used as an important drug in the treatment of Parkinson's disease .…”

“…Electrochemical sensors have been developed for quantification of this drug in recent years, which use a b-cyclodextrin/poly (N-acetylaniline) [5]. For example, Aslanoglu et al [6] proposed a b-cyclodextrin doped poly(2,5-diami nobenzenesulfonic acid) modified glassy carbon electrode for detection of the L-dopa/cyclodextrin species.…”
