Voltammetric Determination of Sulfaclozine Sodium at Sephadex-modified Carbon Paste Electrode

Abstract: The electrochemical behavior of Sulfaclozine Sodium (SLC) was studied at a bare and sephadex-modified carbon paste electrodes by cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) showed a well-defined irreversible oxidation peak at 0.94 V in Britton-Robinson buffer pH 7.0. The strong affinity of SLC to sephadex allowed accumulation of SLC at the surface of electrode and thus higher electrochemical sensitivity to SLC. The influence of sephadex loading, the pH of the solution and the sc… Show more

“…23,25 In addition, CPE can be easily modified and simply manipulated in order to obtain a stable response with the possibility of lowering the overpotential, and to increase the sensitivity and selectivity of some electroactive species. 26 Thus, the feasibility of CPE modification with different modifiers were utilized in previous studies, such as sephadex modifier, 27 and rosaniline, 28 phthalo blue, 29 glycine, 30 and helianthium dye 31 which were electropolymerized on CPE for their effective functioning, exhibiting linearity for the studied analytes over the ranges of 0.005-1, 1-3.5, 0.25-1.25, 0.06-1, and 0.06-0.15 mM, respectively.…”
