PostprintThis is the accepted version of a paper published in Waste and Biomass Valorization. This paper has been peer-reviewed but does not include the final publisher proof-corrections or journal pagination. Abstract A meta-analysis was made of results from previous studies on different variables influencing and determining the recycling behaviour of householders. These studies were conducted by researchers working in various fields in a number of different countries and are published in diverse journals. We evaluated trends in research outputs in the period 1990-2010, during which the provision of recycling facilities to householders has greatly expanded and requirements have become more extensive and often more complex. Variables affecting the recycling behaviour of householders were classified into four theoretical groups: socio-psychological, technical-organisational, individual socio-demographic and study-specific. These groups (clusters) were identified in a meta-analysis of 63 empirical studies culled from published research. The strongest predictors of householders' recycling behaviour were identified as being convenience, moral norms, information and environmental concern. The theoretical framework developed can be used to formulate questionnaires and in data analysis.

Besides, [39] researched on municipal solid waste recycling in Portugal found that incineration inclines to minimise costs by about 15%.…”

Abstract.Sustainability of higher education institution campuses is the main concern in the institution sector worldwide. In achieving sustainability, strategic management such as planning, implementation and strategic implication of recycling initiatives became an essential criterion. This paper aimed to investigate the strategic implication achieved between higher education institution groupings. Questionnaire survey was conducted and completed by 129 institutions in Malaysia. The significance of strategic implication variables was identified through ranking analysis. An ANOVA analysis was conducted to identify the variation in effectiveness level of the overall strategic impacts across higher education institution groups. The findings revealed that the significant differences in effectiveness level of overall strategic impact occurred between the perception of private university and college. The implication of the results was discussed with regard to strategic impacts of solid waste recycling which is useful in the strategic planning of institutions' recycling initiatives.

Lina har i sit arbejde på tvaers af disse felter vaeret optaget af at forstå de liv, mennesker lever, og isaer de mekanismer som ligger bag vores oplevelser af meningsfuldhed i relation til det, vi gør. Efter afslutningen af sin kandidatuddannelse i sociologi arbejdede hun først som forskningsassistent ved Københavns Universitet og siden i både kunstverdenen og højskolebevaegelsen. I foråret 2018 blev hun ansat ved Dansk Affaldsforening for at vaere med til at udvikle et nyt fagområde med fokus på borgere og adfaerd. Ph.d.projektet: Affaldssortering -fra uoverkommeligt besvaer til ubemaerket rutine udgør en central del af det udviklingsarbejde, Lina udfører for foreningen. Lina har i forbindelse med ph.d.-projektet vaeret tilknyttet forskningsgruppen 'Sustainable Cities and Everyday Practice' (SCEP) på Institut for byggeri, by og miljø ved Aalborg Universitet. 7 14Det, som var så påfaldende for mig, var disse beretningers indikation af, at borgerne ikke taenkte på deres udsortering af glas og papir som sortering. Denne ikke-taenkenpå som udtryktes, idet de simpelthen ikke kom i tanke om det, de gør med deres glas og papiraffald, når de blev spurgt, om de sorterer.Dengang skrev jeg 'nemt' i arbejdstitlen. I dag ville jeg skrive 'selvfølgeligt'. Den oprindelige formulering spejler de forståelser, jeg i sin tid overtog fra litteratur og sektor: at transformationen af sortering, fra uoverkommeligt besvaer til ubemaerket rutine, handlede om at gøre det så nemt, at vi ikke behøver at taenke over det. Ph.d.-projektet har laert mig, at det ikke er fordi, udsorteringen af papir og glas er så nemt, at det ikke gør sig bemaerket, men derimod fordi det er så selvfølgeligt.At få lejlighed til at skrive den her afhandling har vaeret en vidunderlig berigelse. At have tre år til at fordybe mig i noget, jeg virkelig interesserer mig for, og med den fordybelse få lov at bidrage til noget jeg virkelig kerer mig om.
