Web API Creation for Enterprise Mashup

Abstract: It is desirable for web applications to be reusable, for example in case a vendor wants to deliver new valuable services by using and combining existing applications quickly. One of the well-known ways of reusing web applications, Mashup, has become popular in the web development community and applied to many open web sites, as we can just combine the data retrieved from Web pages or APIs of the web applications. But in the case of the Mashup of enterprise web applications, or Enterprise Mashup, it is quite di… Show more

“…Thus, a layer of abstraction that will combine multiple API resources, put them under a unique API and govern any API changes can be the solution to this growing uncertainty. A nice similar approach by Tanaka [13], even though it focuses on a slightly different point, it also outlines the importance of web APIs in the enterprise and why mashups are crucial in the industry.…”

“…Risks and security challenges of mashups Security, privacy and confidentiality of electronic data are major concerns in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and are the leading matter in informatics (Meng and Chen., 2009;Tanaka et al, 2011). The main intention of security is the protection of personal data and information against danger, damage, theft, corruption, loss or natural disaster as well as criminal activities (Liu et al, 2009), while allowing data to remain accessible and productive to its intended users.…”

“…Mashups aggregate data and JavaScript programs within the client browser from many different sources, but most of them are not been recognized; users are forced to have a complete trust of these sources (ASP Alliance, 2007;Tanaka et al, 2011).…”
