Well-constrained completion for under-constrained geometric constraint problem based on connectivity analysis of graph

Abstract: This paper presents a method based on connectivity analysis of graph to solve structurally under-constrained constraint problems frequently occurred during design process in parametric CAD. We give a partial solution to the optimal wellconstrained completion problem, that is, adding automatically new constraints to the graph corresponding to an underconstrained geometric constraint problem G in such a way that G is well-constrained and the set of equations needed to be solved simultaneously in order to solve G… Show more

“…Then, widely used in the industry, we find the numerical approaches [16,14,18]. Finally, the family of the geometrical approaches includes methods related to rule-based systems [1,22,3,5,13] or graph analysis [19,15,9,10,25]. In this paper, we describe a new method Permission to make digital or hard copies of all or part of this work for personal or classroom use is granted without fee provided that copies are not made or distributed for profit or commercial advantage and that copies bear this notice and the full citation on the first page.…”

“…Different kinds of rigidity have been defined, such as minimal or global rigidity. See examples of different definition for rigidity in the works of Servatius [107], Jackson [54], Laman [81], Hoffmann et al, [46], Whiteley, [133], Thierry, [122], Sitharam et al, [40], Michelucci et al, [91] and Zhang, [136].…”
