Well-tempered n-plet dark matter

Abstract: Abstract:We study simple effective models of fermionic WIMP dark matter, where the dark matter candidate is a mixture of a Standard Model singlet and an n-plet of SU2 L with n ≥ 3, stabilized by a discrete symmetry. The dark matter mass is assumed to be around the electroweak scale, and the mixing is generated by higher-dimensional operators, with a cutoff scale TeV. For appropriate values of the mass parameters and the mixing we find that the observed dark matter relic density can be generated by coannihilati… Show more

“…We will proceed with a brief review of the singlet-triplet model studied in [9,10], emphasizing its possible origins in split supersymmetry. We add to the Standard Model a fermionic singlet χ as well as its fermionic coannihilation partner ψ with quantum numbers (1, 3) 0 under SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1).…”

“…In this paper we will study coscattering in one of the simplest models where it can occur, namely, the singlet-triplet next-to-minimal dark matter model of [9,10]. A special case of this model is split supersymmetry [11,12] with a bino-like lightest neutralino and a large higgsino mass parameter.…”

“…It is then even possible to detect the almost pure Higgsino whose charged component has a decay length shorter than 1 cm. The strategy based on the charged track is also applicable to the case that EWIMP is not dark matter but a coannihilating partner like the gaugino coannihilation [54][55][56]; the search for the EWIMP becomes powerful despite its soft decay products when it is long-lived enough [57] JHEP06(2018)049 Figure 1.
