“…Experimental techniques (single crystal X-ray analysis, 135/137 NMR and NQR spectroscopy) 25,60,129–132,137 and computation (MEP surface, QTAIM/NCIPlot, and Hirshfeld surface analyses) 25,60,129,130,133 consistently prove the σ-hole character and the attractive nature of the short contacts observed in the crystals. In isolated MaO 4 − anions there are four identical σ-holes where the electrostatic potential is negative but less negative than in other regions.…”

“…25 In crystals, two adjacent MaO 4 − anions can interact with each other through a singly pinning supramolecular synthon ( i.e. , through the approach of the O of one anion to the metal of the nearby anion) and supramolecular anionic dimers 25,127,128 or infinite chains 25,129–131 are formed (Fig. 11A and B).…”

“…49–51 In 2 , 4 , 6 , 8 and 10 there are CH–πinteractions, 20,52 and in 8 and 10 O–π interactions. 50,53 However, despite the variety of non-covalent interactions, the main binding of molecules of the complexes into a structure occurs due to hydrogen bonds.…”
