When does spatial correlation add value to delayed channel state information?

Abstract: Abstract-Fast fading wireless networks with delayed knowledge of the channel state information have received significant attention in recent years. An exception is networks where channels are spatially correlated. This paper characterizes the capacity region of two-user erasure interference channels with delayed knowledge of the channel state information and spatially correlated channels. There are instances where spatial correlation eliminates any potential gain from delayed channel state information and inst… Show more

“…Another direction, would be to extend the current results to two-user Rayleigh fading interference channels (as opposed to the binary fading model). Recently, a new direction was introduced in [24] where spatial correlation between channels were considered. Implications of local delayed CSIT in that setting has great practical importance.…”

“…Conversely, in contrast to the binary fading IC, the direct links in the bursty IC cannot be zero, since only the interference can be intermittent. Vahid et al [ 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 ] studied the capacity region of the binary fading IC. Specifically, [ 11 , 14 ] study the capacity region of the binary fading IC when the transmitters do not have access to the channel coefficients, and [ 12 ] study the capacity region when the transmitters have access to the past channel coefficients.…”
