Wolbachia infections in natural Anopheles populations affect egg laying and negatively correlate with Plasmodium development

Abstract: The maternally inherited alpha-proteobacterium Wolbachia has been proposed as a tool to block transmission of devastating mosquito-borne infectious diseases like dengue and malaria.
