The European Commission DG-V used a similar definition of “incidents where (staff) are abused, threatened, or assaulted in circumstances related to their work, involving an explicit or implicit challenge to their safety, wellbeing, or health” 4. Verbal abuse and threats are often overlooked and are not usually reported to either hospital authorities or the police.…”
