X‐ray studies of structural changes on swelling in the system poly(2,6‐dimethyl‐1,4‐phenylene)oxide/decalin

Abstract: The system PPO/decalin was invastigated by wide-angle X-ray diffraction method. The polymer was used in i t s powder form. The experimental conditions were chosen to obtain maximum swelling of samples. I t was observed that ordering changes were taking place in a relatively short period of time after swelliiig. The degree of ordering was calculated for the swollen and dried samples.
