XXII The Effects of Chloramphenicol upon the Electrical Activity of the Ear: II. Long Term Data

Abstract: Data obtained in an earlier study' indicated that chloramphenicol had a deleterious effect upon the cochlear response of the guinea pig. When the drug was applied directly to the round window membrane for thirty minutes and then removed, subsequent losses occurred throughout the nine hours following the drug treatment. The losses ranged from 20 to 30 db and they were progressive.
